The Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) is a directive that took effect in 2006 and restricts the use of:
- Lead (Pb)
- Mercury (Hg)
- Cadmium (Cd)
- Hexavalent chromium (Cr6+)
- Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB)
- Polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE)
